Guess how many books have been read during the summer, based on how many dried kidney beans are in the Jar. Fill out a slip of paper with your name, phone number, and guess. Closest guess will win a prize!
Storytime-To-Go Kits

On July 20, Storytime-To-Go Kits will be available for ages 3-6.
Ocean Adventures

Join us on Tuesday, July 28th and Thursday, July 30th, at 10:30 a.m. for a storytime as we explore the ocean and all the creatures that live there! For ages 1-6.
Makerspace

Join us on Wednesday, July 29th at 1:00 p.m. to create solar-powered ovens to roast marshmallows. For ages 11-16.
Lego Saturdays

Come hang out at the library and build with Legos. Every week there’s a different challenge to meet, or build whatever your imagination can create! Drop in between 10:30-1:30 p.m. every Saturday. Lego Saturdays is for all ages. Children under the age of 8 need a caregiver present
Storytime-To-Go Kits

Pick up a storytime-to-go kit with early literacy activities and crafts for ages 3-6. New kits are available on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month. Kits are available every day.
Riveting Reptiles

On Tuesday, August 4, at 10:15 a.m. ages 3-6 can join us for a storytime to learn all about scaley, slithering reptiles!
Composting

On Wednesday, August 5th, at 1:00 p.m., join Kylie Holdorf, O’Brien County’s Naturalist, in learning about compost, decomposers, and why they are good for garden plants. For ages 6-11.
Toddler Time

Join us for Toddler Time every 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Thursday of the month a 10:15 a.m. For ages 0-3.
Mah-Jongg

Every Thursday at 1:30 p.m. join us in learning to play the game, Mah-Jongg.

Beginners are welcome. For adults.
Robinson Reptiles

On Friday, August 7th at 4:30 p.m., special performer, Ryan Robinson will be joining us in learning about different types of snakes and reptiles. The audience will get to be hands-on with the friendly reptiles. All ages are welcome. to learn

On Wednesday, August 26th, at 2:45 p.m., Kylie Holdorf, O'Brien County Naturalist, will be educating us about Iowa's fish as well as doing a craft. For ages 6-11.

On Tuesday, August 27, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., join our O'Brien County Naturalist, Kylie Holdork to learn about flies and mosquitos. For Seniors

Sheldon Public Library is open Monday from 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. On Tuesday through Friday, we are open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. On Saturdays, we are open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and on Sundays, we are closed.
